Learning Patience Through Hobby

In a world that moves faster, everyone is expected to move along it, while strolling with patience is frowned upon. We expect the results to be instant, whether it’s an online order, food delivery or even our personal goals. But life doesn’t work that way. Sometimes waiting calmly until the storm passes can work miracles. Hobby plays a great role in building patience while also making it enjoyable.

Hobbies are not mere pastimes, but also a recharge for mind and soul. Hobbies often require time, practice and repetition that help you earn the patience you are looking for. Whether you love knitting, painting, gardening or taking pictures of beautiful things, you slowly start to realize that you couldn’t learn everything in a day, but when you repeat daily with determination and love, you start to see the progress. Step by step, you’ll see yourself getting better and crafting your uniqueness in what you do. Hobbies teach us to slow down, to take a step back when needed, and focus on the progress rather than the outcome.  Repetition helps rewire our brains so that we wait without stressing and improving our self-control along the skills.

2. Mistakes & Frustration

With the excitement, you start to create and reality strikes. It isn’t as easy as it seemed in your dream — challenges appear and your learning process isn’t smooth.

Errors are made and you realize that it isn’t easy. You stop, and start focusing on progressing by learning slowly. Though it might frustrate you, the love and the goal makes you want to keep going — your patience is tested here.

3. Slow improvement with Repetition

In this stage, you’ll love to have challenges as it will not frustrate you now but lets you approach them with different solutions. Your hobby becomes a happy place and a source of peace.

As you’ve mastered your hobby, you’ll see yourself more confident and patient. You’ll come back to it every time life feels hard and your daily life frustrates. Your hobby will be your affirmation and help you make better decisions by helping you to calm your nerves.
